Not that I think that this is super pertinent to digital signage right now but Chi Mei Optoelectronics has just launched a 56" QFHD (3840 x 2160) TFT LCD panel. Its hard enough getting smooth playback of a 1080p video so I don't think anybody thinking of digital signage should go out and get one (the price must be through the roof). The target market is industrial users that need to get a range of different high quality images onto a single screen. That said, I can see 1440p replacing 1080p as the "HD" in a few years.
